ALA 2013 in Chicago, IL
I enjoyed signing books at the ALA Conference in Chicago, IL. I sold out of books and had to sign bookplates! I met a lot of wonderful people. The librarians and teachers truly make authors feel like royalty!

As Fast As Words Could Fly chosen as Picture Book of the Day!
Mia Wenjen, founder of PragmaticMom.com, was inspired by a school visit by Ruby Bridges and was searching for a children's book on civil rights. As she looked through a pile of books on her desk, As Fast As Words Could Fly found her! It had been patiently waiting for this moment. What an honor and privilege to have the book featured, reviewed and recommended by Mrs. Wenjen. And for a double-honor, Mrs. Wenjen compared Mason's story with Ruby Bridges' story.
